Privacy Policy

The purpose of this Privacy Policy is to inform you about the types of personal information Binjon Technology Ltd. (herein referred to as, “we”, “our”, or “us”) collects, uses and discloses when you visit, interact with, or use our app (the “App”). It explains how we use and disclose that information, the choices you have regarding such use and disclosure and how you may correct that information.

We are proud to demonstrate our commitment to your privacy by complying with the laws and regulations under applicable privacy laws in Canada, including the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act.

We will treat personal information in a manner consistent with our Privacy Policy unless we have your consent to treat it differently.

  • Collection of Personal Information
    • To which companies does this Privacy Policy apply?

      This Privacy Policy applies to the collection, use, and disclosure of personal information by Binjon Technology Ltd.

    • What is personal information?

      “Personal information” means any factual or subjective information about an identifiable individual. Personal information includes such information as a person’s name, gender, address, email address, phone number, date of birth and financial information. “Specific Personal Information”, such as your name, date of birth, gender, address, phone number or email address, is obtained only if you supply it voluntarily.

    • What Personal Information do we collect?

      When you visit our App, we do not automatically collect certain information about your device, such as information about your IP address, web browser, time zone, or the cookies that are installed on your device. Additionally, we do not automatically collect information about how you interact with the App, such as the individual pages that you view, any terms you might search, how many times you’ve visited our App, date and time stamps, transmitted data volume, operating system and other technical data such as details of your visits to our App. We refer to this type of information as “Device Information.” When we refer to Personal Information, we are also talking about Device Information, unless we address Device Information specifically.

      We do, however, collect Personal Information that you may provide to us, including and limited to your basic personal details, such as your name, gender, date of birth, contact data, such as your telephone number, and email address, and demographic data, such as your address, geolocation data, preferences, and other personal information relating to you that you may provide.

      Furthermore, once your consent is obtained, we may collect the following types of Personal Information:

      • information that we receive about you from businesses who use our App who have initially obtained your information but have transferred it to us on a contractual basis, so that we can provide coupons to you;
      • other information you may provide when you contact our Customer Service or online chat; and
      • Device Information to screen and protect against fraud.
    • When and how do we obtain consent?

      Before we collect, use, or disclose your Personal Information, we first obtain your express or implied consent. The form of consent required will largely depend on the sensitivity of the information and the reasonable expectation of privacy that you may have in specific circumstances. We may obtain your express consent in writing, through electronic means, or verbally. Alternatively, your consent may be implied through an action that you’ve taken or by continuing to use our App or redeeming a coupon after being notified of our Privacy Policy or periodic updates to it. Since we obtain consent the first time we receive your Personal Information, by continuing to make use of our App, you imply that your consent is ongoing in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

    • How do we use technology to collect information through the App?

      We do not use technology to collect information through the App.

  • Use of Personal Information
    • How do we use your Personal Information?

      The Personal Information you provide to us will be used to: confirm your identity; set up accounts; provide on-going service; create your customer profile; determine your eligibility for products and services; adhere to legal and regulatory requirements set by the province of British Columbia and the federal government of Canada; verify your contact data such as your telephone number and email address; prevent errors and omissions; screening account applications for fraud; send you information or communications; optimize your experience on our App; and to assess the success of our marketing and advertising campaigns.

      When you send us an email or enter your Personal Information in an online form, we will collect your Personal Information in order to respond to you, to provide the requested services, or to improve our App. We will not pass on your Personal Information without your consent.

      With your consent, we may also use your Personal Information to provide you with push notifications that we believe may be of interest to you in relation to the App. You can withdraw this consent at any time through the App and your device.

    • Where do we store your Personal Information?

      We store your Personal Information in electronic form in Canada. We may share non-personal, non-identifiable information with third parties that perform services on our behalf to you as a user of the App. These service providers may have access to such non-personal, non-identifiable information needed to perform their functions but are not permitted to share or use such information for any other purposes.

    • How long will we use, disclose, or retain your Personal Information and Device Information?

      Your Personal Information will be used, disclosed, or retained for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected and permitted or required by law. Generally, we do not disclose your Personal Information, and where we do, we will identify to whom and for what purposes the disclosure will be made and will obtain your consent to such disclosure.

    • What security measures do we take to protect your Personal Information?

      We take the security of your Personal Information very seriously and have implemented a number of measures to safeguard it. Despite our efforts, no system is guaranteed to be completely secure. While we have taken, and will continue to take, reasonable actions to regularly update and improve our security, including regularly monitoring our systems for possible vulnerabilities and attacks and regularly reviewing our information collection practices, we do not promise, nor should you expect, that your Personal Information will always remain secure. We have no liability to you or to any third party arising out of any loss, misuse or alteration of your Personal Information. If you believe that your account or information is no longer secure, or otherwise have information that may be relevant to us regarding information security, please notify us immediately at help@binjon.com.

  • Disclosure of Personal Information
    • We use service providers to help us operate our App and to administer business activities on our behalf, such as sending emails and texts, securing your account with two-factor authentication, and storing user images. We may share your Personal Information with these third parties for those limited purposes. All our service providers are required by law or contract to comply with our privacy standards to protect the privacy of your Personal Information, and to only handle your Personal Information for the purposes of the App.
  • Changes
    • We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect, for example, changes to our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. We will notify you when we make changes to this Privacy Policy and give you the opportunity to review and comment on the revised policy before consenting to use our App.
    • We are also committed to keeping your Personal Information accurate. Please notify us of any changes to your information. By doing so, we can ensure our records are accurate, and we’ll be better able to assist you. This includes changes to contact information, address, and telephone number.
  • Jurisdiction

    Your access to our App and this Privacy Policy are exclusively governed and interpreted by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada. By using the App, you are consenting to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Province of British Columbia. You agree to waive any objection based on inconvenient forum and your location of use in Canada. You agree that you will not file or participate in a class action against us. In the event there is a discrepancy between this English language version and any translated copies of this Privacy Policy, the English version shall prevail.
